Partnering Workshop for 2017
The committee discussed the details of the March 3 Traffic Incident Management Workshop at the Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi. ITS Michigan staff Belanda Beard reports that there are 92 registrants so far. Kay Arcuragi from the Suburban Showplace joined the discussion to finalize the menu choices and the room arrangement. AV services are provided by an outside contractor, and Sarah Gill will coordinate the selection of the contractor and the instructions to the contractor. Parking signage will say ITS/TIM Workshop. The registration table will be outside the Platinum Ballroom. There will be a panelist table at the front of the room between two video screens. Attendees will be seated at 18 round tables of eight. The Continental breakfast buffet will have chilled juices, regular and decaffeinated coffee, herbal tea selections, assorted breakfast breads and pastries, bagels, and seasonal fresh fruit. The lunch will include classic wraps with a choice of chicken Caesar, bacon lettuce and tomato, smoked turkey, and vegetarian. Pasta salad, potato chips, and cookies will be on the menu.MDOT will provide a photographer for the event. The Transportation Improvement Association has been asked to provide some staff to assist Belinda Beard with registration. Suburban Showplace will provide table numbers for each of the 18 tables. The Showplace will have sign in in the parking area directing people to our event. They will also have some signing inside to direct people to our event. GTT will be a sponsor, and they will be listed in the program. The agenda for the event was reviewed, and Dayo Akinyemi indicated that he would be assisted by Reggie Washington of MDOT and Mike Shaw of: Michigan State Police in their discussion of an after action debrief. Kymberly Pashkowsky from Algoma Fire Department will provide the fire service perspective, and Craig Shackelford will explain how to build competence for safe, quick clearance. Tony Kratofil from MDOT will lead an explanation of connected vehicle technology and that will be followed by a tabletop exercise
Agenda for April 14, 2017 Coordinating Committee Meeting
The April 14 Coordinating Committee meeting may include a discussion of freeway operations led by Sarah Gill from the Michigan Department of Transportation, and a review of Traffic Incident Management Comments from 2015 and recommendations for a new Blueprint for Action led by Tom Bruff from SEMCOG. Ahmad Jawad from the Road Commission for Oakland County may outline the. Progress of the Oakland County Connected Vehicle Task Force. Charles McDougall from the Salvation Army may describe their Emergency Disaster Services. Ken Yang from AECOM may illustrate the performance of the Integrated Corridor Operation in Macomb County. Angie Kremer from MDOT may provide an update statewide traffic incident management efforts.
